Day 10: Goodbye City Life
Flight Home
Kelli and I had a long day of travel. By the time we had finally arrived home in Missouri we had been up a total of 25 hours. The flight back was great!
Although Kelli and I had planned to sit apart, someone in my row needed to switch with her so we had to sit next to each other. This was fine by us because by this point we had become great travel buddies, and had not exasperated each other yet. Kelli even managed to score us some free drinks because her flight tray had mysterious gunk on it left by the previous passenger (we assumed the worst). So for our trouble our flight attendant let us have whatever we wanted.
Two glasses of wine later, I was sleeping like a baby. We were able to spend time with Jennifer and the Dean before we went our separate ways. We had coffee and talked about everything from the trip to politics. Kelli and I had one more layover in Ohio before our final flight home. This gave us a chance to work on homework and upload pictures.
We were so glad to see our families waiting for us at the gate, we had given them each a description of the other’s loved ones so that they could find each other, but as it was there was no one else at the gate but them. Kelli and I were glad to be home and with our families. Once we claimed our Weetabix-laden suitcases, we went our separate ways. We have plans to celebrate together once we graduate, and Kelli even got us a present for such an occasion.
